Join us for “Catalyst for Change,” a special jazz-themed Voices for Justice Series event highlighting the music and musings of Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and New Orleans native Nicholas Payton, in conversation with CSULB music professor Ray Briggs, Ph.D. This 45-minute discussion on Zoom explores music’s essential role as a source of expression, inspiration, and activism. The conversation will be followed by a 15-minute Q & A session.
About Nicholas Payton
A leading voice in American popular music, the Grammy Award-winning Nicholas Payton is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, producer, arranger, essayist, and social activist who honors the tradition of postmodern New Orleans music and the spirit of Black American Music.
