Comprised of some of the top musicians in the country, this 68-member orchestra conducted by music director Mitch Glickman is dedicated exclusively to blending the worlds of jazz and classical music, and has played with such renowned jazz soloists as George Duke, Christian McBride, and the Yellowjackets.
The November 12 concert honors the life of composer/arranger Don Sebesky, with special guest Hubert Laws. The program includes Don's arrangements of "Amazing Grace" and "Malagueña," along with his composition "Sebastian's Theme." The performance also features the world premiere of a commissioned work from composer Christopher Zuar, winner of the 8th annual George Duke Commissioning Prize.
