Begin this holiday week with one of Ireland’s oldest Christmas songs: Don Oíche Úd i mBeithil (I Sing of that Night in Bethlehem).
Recorded in the medieval setting of Old St. Mary’s Church in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland, the performance features the traditional Irish ensemble Danú with Nell Ní Chróinín’s stirring vocals accompanied by the flute, fiddle, button accordion, guitar, and bouzouki.
Danú last performed at the Carpenter Center in March 2018.
